In an hour, you can be a hero. By giving blood, you can save a life. Right now, the need is urgent. Supplies of blood and blood products in central Ohio are low. Types O-, A- and B- are needed.
Ohio University Lancaster Campus will host a blood drive on Wednesday, September 30; Thursday, October 1; and Monday, October 5, 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the north lobby. You may schedule your appointment at the Welcome Desk (stop by or call 654.6711, ext. 650), or check with one of the nurses during the Bloodmobile visit.
Although this is about saving lives and not the Campus record, lately we’ve exceeded our goal of 20 units per day. For patients in central Ohio, let’s push the record!
If you plan to donate, be sure to eat a healthy breakfast or lunch, especially iron-rich foods, and drink extra water. Take advantage of the snacks and drinks provided following your donation.
And be sure to pick up your ticket to the Fairfield County Fair as a thank you. You also may register for prizes.
Once you’ve donated, leave the bandage on for a while. It’s your badge of honor. Wear it proudly.
