An information session will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 5:30 p.m., room 212, Herrold Hall, on the Lancaster Campus. Dr. Marvin Fletcher, Professor of History, and Dr. John Furlow, Associate Dean of the Lancaster Campus, will discuss the program and admissions procedures, and answer any questions.

One course will be offered per quarter through fall, 2010. Classes will be held on Saturday mornings during fall and spring quarters, with classes delivered online during winter. One or two summer courses will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

The Master of Social Sciences was created as a professional development program for educators and others interested in understanding more about the forces that have shaped the contemporary world.

A tentative list of the courses includes Colloquium in U.S. History in Recent Times, Civil Liberties, Cold War Europe, Historical Geography of the United States, History of the Soviet Union, American Environmental History, World War I, Political Leadership, American Constitutional Law, and Legislative Process
