Phi Theta Kappa (our local chapter is Beta Beta Theta) has recognized academic excellence in the two-year college since 1918 and has become the largest and the most prestigious honor society serving two-year colleges around the world.
More than 200 students have been inducted into Beta Beta Theta. To be eligible for membership, a student must maintain a 3.5 g.p.a. and have earned at least 12 credit hours applicable to an associate’s degree. The Lancaster Campus chapter was chartered in 1995. Phi Theta Kappa has over 1100 chapters around the world. PTK/BBT members perform many services, including conducting food and clothing drives on Campus, providing meals for the homeless shelter, sponsoring special events for Big Brothers and Big Sisters, promoting literacy and serving refreshments at campus special events.
We invite bachelor’s and associate’s degree students from all majors to seek membership. We have two informal inductions - one in the fall quarter and one in the winter quarter- and a formal induction in the spring quarter which also serves as the formal induction for the fall and winter inductees
